The Freedman Arts District, located in the heart of Historic Beaufort, South Carolina is a space where artist, art galleries, and immersive arts experiences combine. The District hosts a variety of artistic events, public programming, and promotes artistic endeavors, including Chalk it Up! and Artists Sunday. We also work actively with families within the District to retain their home ownership, while restoring their properties to become functioning assets, yielding a thriving, historic community
