The Freedman Arts District promotes and encourages arts, artists, artistic endeavors and art lovers in the District. The 501(c)3 non-profit organization not only hosts Artist Sunday and the Beaufort Chalk It Up! Festival, but is actively works with families that own property in the district including specifically heirs property, to assist in keeping ownership within the family while restoring the property as a functioning asset for the family.
