Class/Workshop Cancellation Policy

​​Freedman Arts District is a nonprofit organization whose operating costs are supported through class registrations, memberships, grants, and facility rentals. Each workshop or class represents a commitment of time, materials, and resources from our instructors, staff, and partners. Because of these commitments, registration fees are considered final.

Workshop Registration Fees

  • The deadline to cancel a registration and receive a refund is two weeks prior to the scheduled class.

  • No refunds or credits are issued after that time.

  • Freedman Arts District often must turn away students once class capacity is reached; late cancellations prevent other participants from joining and impact our ability to sustain programming.

Freedman Arts Cancellations

  • If Freedman Arts District must cancel a class due to low enrollment, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, participants may receive a refund or be offered a credit toward a future class.

  • Freedman Arts District reserves the right to substitute instructors, adjust class content, or modify schedules as needed. These changes do not qualify for a refund unless the class is fully cancelled.

Exceptions

  • Exceptions may be made in cases of verified illness or family emergency. In such cases, Freedman Arts District reserves the right to offer a credit toward a future class rather than a refund.

  • No refunds or credits will be issued for dissatisfaction with a class, as artistic experience and interpretation are inherently subjective.

Facility Rentals

  • Organizations or individuals who rent space at the Freedman Arts facility must cancel at least two weeks in advance to be eligible for a refund. Cancellations made fewer than two weeks before the reserved date are non-refundable.
